Help ebay savvy folk!
I bought this skirt last year or the year before from Newport News. It's nice enough as black gauze tiered skirts go, but it's nothing special. I got it for probably 7.99.This woman wants to buy it now for $50. It's already $24. I feel like it's ridiculous and she'll be disappointed and she's a newbie to boot.

I guess I feel like I'd be taking advantage of her if it goes much higher.

It's here

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5407124870&sspagename=ADME:B:RTQ:US:1

What do I do?

That's the thing with ebay... people will bid up the cheapest thing for the most expensive price.

*shrug* I don' tknow what to tell you otherwise.

No, first off ending an auction early for someone when there are already bids on it is not fair to the other bidders. I think it's a no-no with ebay, too. Jusat let her know exactly that: doing so would not be fair to current bidders, who may choose to bid higher close to the end of the auction.

she asked me to change it to buy it now? That seems pretty off to me too.
DO you think?

Untill I saw this, I was going to say. End it and let her have it.

However, she's asking for it cheaper then her max bid.

So I think she working you. She's no newbie.

In fact, my BS detector is going off.

"Sorry, there are other bidders, so I cant' just end it."

Then wait for the check to clear before shipping it.

I don't think "Buy It Now" can be used once someone has bid on an auction item.

I say, let the auction run its course and if she wants to pay a lot for the skirt then let her. You're in no way forcing her to place her bids.

You can't change it to buy-it-now. No changing the listing is allowed after there are bids.

Caveat Emptor.

She's a grown up, she'll have to deal with it. That's how bidding on eBay works.

The only thing I might want to clarify in the future is the return policy.

i would explain what you think the quality of the skirt to be
& see what she has to say. chances are likely that she will want
to buy it anyway. its possible that this is an item she once had
& lost or something or is just EXACTLY THE piece shes been looking
for for ages & thinks however much is worth it to pay.
