light your candles

ninny has taken a downturn.
While her blood sugar is lower, it's not low enough. She's dehydrated and has a sinus infection and her arthritis is acting up. She's in the hospital for the next two days getting fluids and antibiotics. She's in the first stages of a very dangerous state called ketoacidosis. She just started acting odd late last night and I got her an appointment first thing this morning. She didn't get to see her regular doc and I didn't get to go (how much I wanted to, but the baby upsets her and she was so sick this morning) but James, her favorite person is there. And it was just better that she get in there. I sent along her favorite blanket and special food.

We'll go visit her tomorrow.

I love my grumpy old lady a lot. Please light your candles or pray for her. She's an important part of our family.

Ninny this month

if you really love the furry ones I've found that they tell you and you know deep down when it's time for them to go. I knew when it was time for Hotspur, my absolute soulmate of a cat I had for 15 years (cardiomyopathy). I wanted him to stay forever but he needed to move on.

I love my little blue girl a lot, but when she can no longer be rude to the boys and grumpy with James and I (nose biting being her favorite hobby)then she's not having a happy life any longer (she was born a curmudgeon). My responsibility is to be there for her now especially when she only has a voice that James and I can understand.

I'm am so happy to have read about her recovery.

With your loving care, she has many more grumpy years in her.

Punkin was diagnosed with 6 months to live and we had 3 more lovely years of being "Meh"ed at.
