that was a blast
Nov. 25th, 2001 03:54 pmThat was one of the best Thanksgiving's I've had in a while. I usually don't celebrate them, and James hasn't seemed too into them either, so we've blown it off the past few years. This year we went to zombo and Alex's house for a fantastic dinner. The turkey was large and perfect and oh my god, the sweet potato and marshmallow dish...whoa.
And cornbread dressing --I haven't had that since I left Arkansas (Zombo did time in Fayetteville right after I moved to SF and Mrs. Zombo is from Tennessee) Giblet gravy
and two kinds of potatoes and Andrew made sushi...good lord and cheesecake, fudge, cookies..and my pecan pies..it was a feast. I wanted to camp there for two days just eating.
It was grand to finally meet some folks in the flesh, I've known online. Seeing cam shots isn't the same. Jason is really cool --his filmic knowledge is vast , one of the few folks I know who can come up with just one more obscure shatner movie than I can. Zombo's art is beyond compare and he and his wife Alex were wildly friendly and very welcoming.
Everyone we met was so nice and friendly it continuously blew our minds.
Friday we stayed in our pj's and read and petted the kitties. Sunday Jam went down for a wine tasting party at Andrew and Miska's while I enjoyed a migraine. Today we got James a desk and some filing cabinets for his office, so it looks like I'll be getting my desk back and set up along with the killer kat computer next week or the week after.
Tomorrow I have to make another OB appointment with the faboo Dr. Hubka and Mr. Teatime needs an appointment to have his possibilities removed. It's also time for Pandora to get her first winter treatment and snow tires. James also has to go to Canada on business this week, foo--but I'll use the time to continue with the large organizing.
It is good to be consistently happy again.
