it's about 82 degrees here, which isn't SO bad, but I have no summer maternity clothes because I'm supposed to have this baby any time now. Really, ANY time now.

Consequently I'm wearing some oversized Hawaiian shorts and one of my few oversized tank tops and I look like a dork. It makes no sense to indulge in vanity when one is as big as three horses, but I am female.

I made banana bread for the first time ever last night and it was perfect. even managed to make it half with nuts half without (James hates cooked nuts).

I am now extremely boring. Just a blancmange, hanging out.

My main entertainment right now is reading books about T. S. Eliot, Emily Dickinson and how to deal with babies. And writing overly long emails to some of my friends. I'm also going to be calling and nattering at some of them too. I'm having the best time writing E, Alicia, Kristin and some other folks right now. It's very cool--I don't think they are yet annoyed with me.
E has a really cute baby, go look

Hopefully today I'll finish hanging the dried flowers out of cat mouth reach and the last two of my hat collection. Then it's just a few pictures.

The nursery is nearly finished. I'm waiting on some frames to come in. I got them unfinished because I'm going to paint and decoupage them with wee cats ,skeletons and ghosts.

I'm going to eat a lot of popsicles and sit in the glider rocker James got me if the cats will share. They like that as much as the crib. Hopefully I'll get some non swollen leg time to finish up some stuff on the webpage too.

hot DAMN

because I saved everything like a maniac...donated to charity, saved extra medical bills and all the moving information and had James and I withhold at a slightly higher (just one) rate...

we are getting $2300 back on our taxes!!!

This does not happen to people just married--you always get dinged on taxes before you spawn..and 2001 was the first full year of marriage (in 2000 we got slightly dinged, but got it all back with the rebate). I know that means the government had the use of our extra money for the year, but even that is better than suddenly having to pay even more taxes.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

And next year we have our own little tax deduction!

And we'll probably pay off the baby expenses with that, but HOT DAMN, that means all the baby stuff, plus some is paid off...with maybe enough left over for a new TV
or couch (James hates my tv because it's just old enough not to have all the prongs and cables and things he needs).

and I say again

WHeeeeeeee
