the frenchman made an appointment to show the apartment at 2 today.
He didn't show up.
Did he call? No
Did he email? No
I even left to putz around osco so I wouldn't entirely pop off at him (James is good at freezing people's blood when angry--I tend to snarl and verbally flail at them). We even cut out our trip to the new place to put away stuff so we could be present for the showing (don't trust him not to let cats out, ninny is sick and teatime is a scaredy cat).
I just found out that you have to give 48 hours notice in Chicago to enter an apartment. Interesting.
Or we could just refuse outright and his only remedy is to file a 10 day notice to comply or vacate...at which point we'd er, vacate.
What I don't understand is why he let it get like this. If he would have made repairs, kept up the place and not heinously overcharged us--yep we've been taken advantage of now that I look at other apartments for the same $$
Oh yeah and not slandered two of my best friends in the world. Grr.
If he would have just communicated with us and not disappeared. He's not cut out to be a businessman or a landlord. You have to be organized and follow through with projects, details...
