Halloween 2002
Nov. 1st, 2002 07:14 pmO the trauma....James' server isn't up yet and we don't have our wireless hardware (monday really for sure I'm told) so I can't post the eye poppin cute pics of us on Halloween. But I will as soon as I can. We went around the neighborhood giving out candy and asking for directions to Hogwarts. I was a witch, James a wizard and Miss Emily, wearing her purple satin and spiderweb lace dress made for her by Auntie Lauryn was the youngest sorceress. She wore a cape that her Uncle matt sent her that she'll wear again on her naming day (the cape has a wonderful long pointed hood and is velvet). We bundled her in her spiderweb blanket and took a walk about the neighborhood and I handed out candy from a basket since the kids might not know to ring our doorbell. We got lots of friendly comments and the kids were fun to talk to about Harry Potter (oh how I love those books and can't wait to read them with Emily).
For our anniversary celebration we went over and hung out for a bit with Andrew, Miska, Gwen and Vegas Johnny. Gwen and Vegas Johnny have been visiting this week and it's been so great to hang out with them. Earlier in the week Gwen, Miska and I went out to the Red Lion for some conversation and beer (or in Miska's case, woodpecker cider). I was a bad girl and kept them up too late, but it was so much fun and one of the best conversations I've had. It's just way cool when you get to really know people you already really know even better. They are such wonderful women.
After visiting the cones et al we went back home with a slightly overstimulated baby dear, indulged in a wee bit of dancing about in a hug, dressed spooky on our favorite holiday and with our cats, wee girl and a lot of love just whisking about the place. It's great to remember the wonderful wedding but it's just as great to do what we did tonight. I was just so happy.
We put Em in some comfortable clothes and bundled her off to bed and we ordered a chicago pizza pie and reviewed our quite wonderful marriage, family and well...life.
At midnight I woke up and spoke to my dad, amy and Hotspur thanking them for their love and place in my heart. Then I pulled James away from Halloween 6,426 on some movie channel and we snoozed off.
I love Halloween.
