many many thank yous and bits
Nov. 29th, 2003 01:48 pmTo Katrina and Sherilyn for donating to the aspca in Newg's name. We really really appreciate that. He would too, being once a street urchin.
And Dr. Rovner not only sent us a condolence letter, but donated to "help a pet" (which I think even helped out Krys and Steve at one point) in Mr. Newg's name. I think we'll be doing the same as one of the charity gifts we do every Xmess (the other is usually the fireman's toys for tots)
We finally got to talk to the evil twin, Rocky and Joyce. That was really quite cool.
If you have not seen it, you must see Withnail and I. I introduced it to James and he had a fit.
"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here and we want them now!"
Withnail: "I feel like a pig shat in my head."
having just drunk a bottle of lighter fluid
Peter Marwood: No. I have nothing.
Withnail: Liar. What's in your toolbox.
Peter Marwood: Nothing.
Withnail: Liar. You've got antifreeze.
Peter Marwood: You bloody fool. You should never mix your drinks.
I'm working on not being too depressed by the holidays. It always brings up all the things I miss and all the craziness of times past. I would really rather just be, here now (like dude :-) ? So I think that is what I will do.
We still don't know what to do about a vet. We really love Dr. Rovner and Higgins in Chicago. We HATE Wheleing Veterinary and their callous disregard for grief and lack of respect for animals and humans. We need a closer hospital because of Ninny and her diabetes. I guess I'll try Barrington Animal Hospital again and see if anyone clicks. Then decide if we keep two vets in two different places. It really is important now, because with Ninny being so very very sad about Mr. Newguise, we've had to increase her insulin dosage and her back legs are weak. She's on the mend, but her health is very delicate now.
We may walk down to the village square to see Santa Claus today if Em is up to it. She's growing again, teething and her cognitive processes are in overdrive.
James has to go out of town most of next week and most of the following week. Then his job changes and supposedly he will only travel a few times a year.
It really had better be that way. They can't expect the same work for less money. And the constant traveling is really messing with us.
Emily is signed up for two weekly classes starting in January. They have a type of gymnastics/tumbling class for physically advanced and energetic kids. She would qualify. And A music class. This is going to be really cool. She's really ready to hang out with other kids now, she's starting to notice they are there. And I'm looking forward to her having fun and learning...and maybe I'll meet some folks too. We have such an excellent park district out here it is amazing. If I can find some kind of body stocking to wear that will cover up my tats I'll even be going to the pool with her and swimming. Otherwise I'd just take her to the pool and hang out in a huge tshirt. The pool has water slides for wee kids and bigger ones. Shoot, I want to try them.
Fangsgiving really was just so neat. Actually it was, in the truest sense of the word, heartwarming.
Anyone interested in having Xmess dinner at La residenza dei martinis? I would be very Happy to make the turkey and everything. I've really been wanting to do that again.
But now I honestly am on overload again so we're going to go back to being quiet for a bit.
