Thanks Katrina for the tips on how to modify my journal style! It's pretty much a copy of yours!

Much done today...groceries, bookstore, more re-arranging of Emily's room.

For those of you who asked--I put in links to the baby registries. Thanks for asking!

It's about 10 or less weeks away, this having a baby thing. YIKES.

Got Matt's care package, and Scott's new time waster ready to mail tomorrow.

Almost done with the website update too.

and you have to see this:

I cleared off one side of my desk, put on the catnip blanket and now the kids can hang out while I'm on the computer.

oh goody! baby registry!

wait a minute, how the fuck do they expect anyone to buy you anything? they are asking for the shipping address. shouldnt the registry already have that information?

it should work....I know if you go through the baby style one it does for sure. Let me know what's happening and I'll try to troubleshoot.

its the other one, the baby super store.

Im not sure how you are supposed to purchase it. They have the little boxes that you put the quantity you want, and then hit the "Ill buy it" button at the bottom. Then when I go to checkout, it requests shipping information. I get the same thing if I go to the item description and then select to purchase it that way. I read the instructions for buying something from the registry for someone and it says that the item is shipped to what is listed on the shipping address in the order form. It almost seems that those are the ways you can buy the item for yourself, but it doesnt bother to show how to buy the item for the registry owner. The only two options besides the "Ill buy it" are "add to cart" in the item description view and the "add to registry" option, which is for if you want to add it to your own registry.

what a stupid fucking way to run a site registry.

did you try registering? when I did that it didn't ask for a shipping address (I created a dummy account)
then it has the shipping information.

[identity profile] thingie.livejournal.com 2002-02-16 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
yeah I did. and when i tried to buy you something it had my address as the shipping address. what the fuck, man?

they cant possibly be serious that all their registry service does is simply display what the person wants and thats it. thats kind of pointless.

I'll email their tech support. If it turns out that they don't have the shipping info on file then I'll get rid of that registry and start one somewhere else.
