raining, brain cooling
it's raining...which means it's cooling off supposedly. Please god let it be cooling off.
Andrew and Miska saved our sanity with dinner and their working air conditioning. I was able to behave in a human manner.
I still feel bad about missing class (yes I didn't skip class much in college or grad school) but I wouldn't have been able to concentrate anyway and luckily we have Matt, Angela and E to call on for baby wrangling advice when we get confused.
The contractions stopped about 9. Dunno when they'll start again. Guess they do this for awhile, but it means something is happening. The Braxton Hicks contractions continue. The regular ones were weirdly spaced (45 minutes, 10 minutes 50 minutes etc) and of varying length--and I don't think they were full contractions because I could still talk at times--though they did occupy most of my attention. And I figured they'd be worse. So color me confused. Maybe they come in varying flavors and intensities.
Soon I'll get to go to sleep again, as soon as it gets cool in here. It's still 85 in the house.
We still have more stuff around the house to do but just a little more and it's mostly me being obsessive. Especially since I know I'm not going to want to do much in the month following her arrival--and James' mom is coming the end of May. I have to have things under control by then. Or as much as I can.
however much that will be.

Re: ARGH! FAKE contractions are the WORRST!!!!!
When your belly gets all hard like a rock, that is a contraction. I don't care how or why. The shit is uncomfortable. Perhaps it's not the one that starts the chain reaction, but whatever. That's all up to Emily. Tell her I want to see her in that footy kit right now and if she'll come out I'll slip her a cheeseurger and a coke, some m&ms and ice cream, and then I promise not to bring her back home until she has beaten Blake at couch trampoline tricks and passed out well and good and has been snoring for at least 45 minutes.
PS. Blake said, "Don't want cereal," grabbed his shoes and sat by the door. No guilt about taking him to day care when that's where he wants to be.
