and all, while uncomfortable, is A-Ok. I still have to take it easy. Need to drink more and eat more iron rich foods, because I'm still lagging in the blood department, but the doc thinks by a month or six weeks I should be myself again.

We have some ideas about breastfeeding she gave us too. It may not work but we'll keep trying until it's too frustrating. Emily will get breastmilk in a bottle, after I'm off all the meds, that is. For now I have to "pump and dump." And until and unless my milk actually comes in, she's on formula. Hey, I have to feed her right?

Oh and Five cool things.

Everyone who saw Emily today said how beautiful she was--even complete strangers!

Dr. Hubka said the nurses commented mightily on how wonderful James and I were. How gracious and caring. How supportive and strong he was and how I never once cursed or cursed him. Apparently they thought we were the coolest in a long while.

I got to wear my own pre pregnancy clothes--black skirt, doc martens, black velvet tank top, black cardigan. I looked properly spooky and felt somewhat attractive.

James' eyes popped out of his head when I came down the stairs. He gulped and told me I looked wonderful. I could see he meant it.

When I got on the scales I weighed 5 pounds LESS than at my very first OB visit.

Not bad for two weeks after having a baby hmmm?

That's cuz you ARE beautiful, mz mommy.

I read "iron rich" as "iron chef" and was mightily confused/amused.

you missed miska's freudian slip earlier today, when, instead of saying "kitchen aid", she said "chicken aid".

You rock so hard I can feel it all the way in NH. :) And not surprised at all about the weight loss. You were sooooo good about keeping in shape before Emily was even making your belly stick out, it's bound to have stuck, even with a few weeks of being not-so-mobile.

Yay Martinis! *me with pom-poms bouncing up and down*

Yay...glad you had a good check up, and congrats on the weight loss. :)

Check this out if you're interested "Iron Woman" tea (http://www.tealand.com/IronWoman.asp) I don't know how much you're into herbal stuff, but..
"Iron Woman" is based on traditional alterative blood tonic teas that combine yellow dock root, burdock root, dandelion root and nettle leaf used to cleanse and nourish the kidneys, liver and blood, to aid in the absorption of essential nutrients like iron, and provide strength after loss of blood from menstrual flow or childbirth....To ensure you are maintaining healthy iron levels, include iron-rich foods in your daily diet like dark leafy greens, sea vegetables and dried fruits. And to supplement your daily iron requirements include Iron Woman in your daily regime. The mineral-rich herbs in Iron Woman are easily digested and assimilated."

well DUH!

You looked absofriggenlutly GORGEOUS yesterday.

and i remember that i mentioned while you had Emily inside you that it looked like you were losing weight everywhere else

so I am not surprised that you did loose weight.

plus the fact that I think labor has to be the biggest calorie burner EVER
