back from the doc

and all, while uncomfortable, is A-Ok. I still have to take it easy. Need to drink more and eat more iron rich foods, because I'm still lagging in the blood department, but the doc thinks by a month or six weeks I should be myself again.

We have some ideas about breastfeeding she gave us too. It may not work but we'll keep trying until it's too frustrating. Emily will get breastmilk in a bottle, after I'm off all the meds, that is. For now I have to "pump and dump." And until and unless my milk actually comes in, she's on formula. Hey, I have to feed her right?

Oh and Five cool things.

Everyone who saw Emily today said how beautiful she was--even complete strangers!

Dr. Hubka said the nurses commented mightily on how wonderful James and I were. How gracious and caring. How supportive and strong he was and how I never once cursed or cursed him. Apparently they thought we were the coolest in a long while.

I got to wear my own pre pregnancy clothes--black skirt, doc martens, black velvet tank top, black cardigan. I looked properly spooky and felt somewhat attractive.

James' eyes popped out of his head when I came down the stairs. He gulped and told me I looked wonderful. I could see he meant it.

When I got on the scales I weighed 5 pounds LESS than at my very first OB visit.

Not bad for two weeks after having a baby hmmm?

You rock so hard I can feel it all the way in NH. :) And not surprised at all about the weight loss. You were sooooo good about keeping in shape before Emily was even making your belly stick out, it's bound to have stuck, even with a few weeks of being not-so-mobile.

Yay Martinis! *me with pom-poms bouncing up and down*
