the era is passing

dee dee ramone is dead.

It really did happen...the music of my youth (well some of it) did end up on a television compilation. But the Ramones didn't...and neither did the dead kennedys

ok - i don't actually know the dead kennedys very well, but i thought this was funny nonetheless. my dad operated on the dead kennedys' bassist the other day. (he's an ear surgeon.) i guess they were on tour and he was referred to my dad. said that a fan had jumped up on stage and screamed the song lyrics in his ear and actually deafened him temporarily. so my dad, being the hip guy he is (not) at 69, asked what band the guy was in and he was like, "i guarantee you've never heard of it. it's punk - the dead kennedys." and sure enough my dad had never heard of the dead kennedys but my fiance and i thought it was worth a chuckle.

by the way your baby is adorable - al
