the girl is kicking my butt! The sleeping through the night was short lived. She's waking up at 1 and 4 again (at least it's not 1,3,4 and 6). But she's not really sleeping after 1 just flailing--she's not crying. Is that how babies sleep sometimes? Because other times she's completely sacked out. At about 1 she starts flailing...snoozes for 10 minutes, flails, snoozes and on and on. The hind brain is saying something is wrong so I can't sleep. She does sleep solidly for about an hour if I put her on my chest--sometimes that isn't workable though.

She starts napping (just napping mind you--an hour here an hour there in her crib) during the day and she stops sleeping at night--what's that all about?!

Babies are 'sposed to need 15 hours at her age--she sleep maybe 10 at the most. I'm thinking even less. Maybe this is just how Emily is--wants to be going and doing all the time. I remember I hated taking naps--but I was about 2 then! Maybe this is a normal stage? I can just pray she's out of it by the time James goes on his long trip or I'll crack up by the end of it.

I slept 3 hours last night. I am going to have to sleep sometime today or I'll fall over.

Yeah, but the older she gets the more she'll be able to entertain herself and also let herself fall back to sleep.

If babies actually slept for 15 hours a day, Mommies would look a lot less exhausted. It's going to take her a while to learn that night=sleep, day=wake. When she was in your tummy, it was always night.
