today was john entwistle's funeral. The WHO really is gone now. Something is missing from the world.

Of course when Pete goes it's really going to be bad. His lyrics and music, both with The WHO and solo saved my life any number of times.

I agree. I especially think Pete's solo work has been criminally underrated. He really could have been successful even without the Who, and I'm not sure that's so true of other artists. Lennon, probably. But to judge by the solo output of a lot of other members of great bands (McCartney, Mick Jagger, et al), it's no easy thing.

Any time I hear "Let My Love Open the Door," in a store or whatever, I have to dance a little. I don't care how dorky I look. That is one damn catchy song. In fact, I'm gonna go listen to it right now!

it's hard when your hero's pass on. it's something i personally like to be in semi-denial about.

in my mind, their music will be around forever. so as long as the music that makes me feel alive exists, they are still alive through me.

joey ramone and george harrison.. that whole thing freaked me out. and yes, i am also a who fan. ..i dread the day morrissey, jimmy page and david bowie leave this world. -hugs all my vinyl and cd's, then hugs you again-

I don't think David Bowie is going anywhere - that man, I'm certain, has a pact with the devil.

But really, I am scared for that day too.
