flying falling feline
First I have to say, James did all the feedings. I woke up to kibitz him on it (I try to not tell him what to do, he's as capable and intuitive about baby dear care as I am--we do things differently yes, but not just one way is right) and came downstairs for her morning playtime and let me sleep. Thank the goddess because she wasn't interested in her big nap yesterday and woke up extra early so I was exhausted....
Anyway, I hear her crying and stumble downstairs a while later...I'm playing with her on the couch and hear James say "Teatime" in a warning tone then dash over to the stairs just as Teatime plummets (and believe me a 15 lb cat sure can plummet) from the stairs. First ihs back legs are sliding off, then the weight of his huge ass pulls him off the stairs just as James dives under the stairs and catches him.Yes, James the giant cat catcher.
I just wish I had the camera then. Teatime took it all in stride and I laughed so hard I made Miss Emily squeal.
So I put Em in her dad's favorite outfit (don't know why it is he likes this one so much--it's really cute of course, maybe it's the wee bugs) before she completely outgrows it and he went wild with the camera today...
I'm so glad he's home, so is Miss Em. I gather so is Mr. Teatime. And Ninny seems to have forgiven me--she'd been thinking I'd gotten rid of another guy I guess. I keep trying to tell her that this one is hers forever.

second: when i was little, we had a cat named pepper. [1981-1998] pepper was an obnoxious kitty when she was a kitten. she spazzed and climbed the tree in our backyard, which is kinda huge. dad was walking through the backyard when pepper fell from the tree and *foomp* - he caught her in her hands.
that is, i believe, the sign of a true good daddy :D

So glad you got a little extra snooze action.
She does, indeed, have quite the self-posessed little smile. Amazing how clearly her own person she already is.
