sitting up!

I was just wondering why Emily decided to crawl backwards. She's pretty much moving herself backwards around the room by pushing with her hands and moving her legs...part crab, part frog I guess.

Today she got a determined look on her face, pushed back and sat up. Lifted her hands up off the floor and waved them around. Stayed like that for several minutes just babbling away. I was cheering her on. She's done it five more times since then so it isn't an accident.

She's now pushing herself up to sitting and grabbing toys to play with.

James and I got all verklempt over it. She's just the coolest baby ever.

Blake crawled backwards first, too. Perhaps they were talking while we were there and we didn't notice. . .
