Happy Samhain, October 31st and Halloween!

It's Samhain--the veil between the worlds is thinnest now and I'll be able to say hello to my dad, amy and Hotspur.
It's October 31st--James and I have been married two years tonite.
It's Emily's first Halloween.
It's our first year in Chicago.

What a grand day.

Your wedding is a special day for me for many reasons, but most of all it is because it was the day you and James got married in a gorgeous and touching ceremony that I felt priviliged to attend, and also because that morning before driving to SF to your wedding, I found out with a home pregnancy test that I was two weeks pregnant with my Maeven!

Happy Anniversary and I hope the trick or treating in Chicago was wonderful! The first years of getting dressed up and toddling up and down stairs, whispering 'trick or treat' and a quiet amazed 'thank you'...ahhhh...I rememember those days. Last night my daughter and her friends ran me thru the Chicago Marathon/screaming trick or treat all thru the town!
