cat comfort

If you have issues with extreme mental illness do NOT watch
"a beautiful mind'

I got it because I thought it was about math and James would like it.

When the guy had an episode and almost drowned his baby I started crying .. Mr. Teatime jumped up in my face and cuddled with me until I quit crying. Soon all the kitties joined us on the couch. We have such great cats. I missed having a big cat cuddle me when I cried, Hotspur was so very good at that...maybe he's been whispering in the big kitten's ear.

In honor of that here are kitty pictures

our ghost kitty Hotspur

Miss Ninny and Mr. Newguise the geriatricats (14 and 12) (note bizarre sleeping position that occasioned me to check her breathing)

And the kittens (nearly 4 for Zach and 1 for giant Mr. teatime)

today we had sushi lunch with Andrew and Miska and Emily snacked on her food at the same time. It was great fun and Em was very cool about the whole thing. That chair strap in dealie Matt sent us worked SO well she actually sat in a regular seat for 30 minutes, then got passed around the table trying to grab things like wasabi and soy sauce..

but Andrew and Miska dear I must apologize...we were so self and Emily absorbed today and I'm so sorry. I want to hear about YOUR stuff too. We just had a rough week between em and Jam's work and you present such kind shoulders to lean on.

We called Punkin, who passed away last year, Dr Punkin when were ill. She would stay with us when we were home sick. Not sleeping with us, watching over us. A guardian familiar, protecting us from illness.

I sort of knew it was "real" between Chris and I when I got really sick and stayed at her place. Every time I woke up, Punkin was right their watching. Not looking like she was woken up, or disturbed, by my coughing.

We knew were on the mend when Punkin would return to her usual cranky self and leave the room.

James passed the cat test too. That's when you know for sure you are in.

I remember one morning I heard "mmmf mmmf Jyllian what's going on" and looked over to see Hotspur sitting on the pillow James had over his head. I told him he had Mr. Spur on his head and he couldn't move.

He said ok and went back to sleep.

i knew he was the one for sure and forever right then.

Teatime Fan Club

I love Giant Mr. Teatime! He needs to have his own plush doll! It's like that photo of him and Zach make them look like the spice cats, where Zach would be the flatulent acrobatic Sporty Spice and Mr. Teatime is his fuzzy, loveable counterpart SpiceZilla. Better yet, somebody help me get a copy of PhotoShop and I'll make some "Teatime the Giant Has a Posse" stickers. The Teatime Fan Club will litter the city of San Francisco with Obey Teatime posters.....crushing the evil influence of Monkey Knife Fight graffiti.

Hah! I am not to blame for Scott's disappearance. I've only seen him twice since he moved to CA.

Miss you dearly, sweets. You are doing a great job with all the latest trials and tribulations of life, as well as the stress such things create. From what I've seen you have made all the best decisions for yourself and your family. I'm so proud of you.

BTW, I'm convinced Teatime is Hotspur reincarnated.

Nevermind, I checked the file name and discovered that it's Emily. She looks extremely tall in that picture and it confused me. Well, that and maybe a bit of the...erm...herbal painkiller I'm on.

she is extremely tall~ 29 inches last month!

She's nearly half as tall as I am! (No, really, I'm only 5'3" and half of that would be 31.5".)

pfah, don't worry about it. it was good to get you guys out, and it was nice to be able to be there for you guys to vent.

it's good that you took sausagebaby home, though... it was REALLY crowded at trader joes. it was cool as hell, and the prices were REALLY reasonable, but it would have been baaaad news for em.

Your kitties are beautiful!
BTW, I am upset when people with MI are depicted as dangerous, and I haven't seen the movie yet. Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually looking forward to seeing it!

[identity profile] cheekytubemouse.livejournal.com 2002-11-23 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
*sigh* I miss you guys and your kitties.

Movies and Artificial Intelligence

[identity profile] hexembrace.livejournal.com 2002-11-26 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
My first movie, post-partum, was Artificial Intelligence. Bad idea. Maeven had constant colic and it was my first time away from her for an outing by myself and I was fretting over leaving, but was also going crazy.

So there is this robot boy being abandoned in the forrest by his mother and he is screaming "Mommy don't leave me!" It's basically about a boy trying to find love from his mother. And there I was guilt-ridden about leaving my baby for three hours to catch a movie, bawling and near-panick in the theatre crying hysterically on the drive home feeling like a terrible mom, calling on the cell phone and hearing my baby awake and crying was making me have a nervous breakdown in the movie theatre. What a mess. Gotta be careful about those movies.....

oh god. I saw that when I was just about ready to pop. I cried so hard. That is not the right movie to see pregnant or post partum. It's a wonderful movie in a lot of ways...but good lord I can't imagine people abandoning animals...and hearing him saying "mommy where are you mommy" just about killed me.
