thanks to kyburg for pointing the article out

"At a Star Trek convention, there are 2,000 to 3,000 people and maybe about 25 who have uniforms and make-up on. The rest are just people who watch Star Trek and enjoy it. They are not anywhere so peculiar as football fans. Nobody ever gets hurt at a Star Trek convention," he added. "

I have a uniform and used to be even moreso...I also have a master's degree specializing in medieval lit. I don't live it and breathe it anymore like I did when I was younger, but I love star trek and always will.

Until they start calling all the people who pledge fraternities and sororities every year "cult followers," I don't think you should give credence to the naysayers.

But that chick who wouldn't give up on wearing her uniform to jury duty was kinda wack, you gotta admit. :)

oh I love the fact that she demanded to be called commander at work. Excuse me, did I miss some military swearing in ceremony?

What was her starship again? the Artemis? They must be partnered up with the Lillith and the Sappho, I suppose.

Of course, this WAS jury duty. I think the "crazy like a fox" defense may apply.
