To Poor Miss Em who had a meltdown and a cold relapse during the ceremony and cake but who was charming and beautiful in her hello kitty outfit, ruffled bottom tights, pink kittyhead shoes and purple tiara. You look beautiful in chocolate my little love.

To Poor Mr. James who was sick and cranky but managed to pull it together when I needed him too. I really love you and appreciate how we are together when things are happy or tense. You are the most perfect man as far as I'm concerned

To Alex for anchoring and performing a ceremony she never had before with aplumb and love. And for coming over early and helping with all those last minute bits that never get done no matter how early you start.

To Alex and Chad for the most beautiful photo collage of miss em and the poem that makes me cry every time I read it.

To Andrew and Miska for so much. --the shopping, the assistance that only family can provide right before a party (I only ask family to help with the cooking everyone else has to be waited on--that is a mixed blessing I know)the baby wrangling and patience, the beautiful words that Emily will read on her 18th birthday.The guidance and love you will show her as her stewards through life.

To Matt and Gwen for being there in spirit when they couldn't in the flesh. You know you are so stuck with us now--I had to find a way to make sure we would be together the rest of our lives and now that you've agreed to be god/dess parents it is that way.

To Jola, Frosty, Meg, Khrys and Steve--Thank you for participating and being a part of our lives--you bring fun, kindness, creativity and love to us .

To Sherilyn and Katrina for your wonderful words both written and in the books you sent. As usual they are destined to be favorites--perfectly chosen. I want us to stay connected no matter the distance.

To Rimma--darling the command romper is one of the more perfect things I've ever seen. We are tarting her up in it and heading out to the first ST convention I can find. Thank you so much for thinking of us--when she outgrows it, it's going in her time capsule.

Thank you to Joyce, Emily's Moma (grandmother) for the books, patience and love she sends our way every day. We're lucky to have you as family.

To Angela, Tom, Cameron and Robyn--Friends I've loved for over 15 years and though we are far apart we aren't ever far apart in my heart.

I know I've probably forgotten someone or something--I'm not finished being thankful yet.

we are good. Everyone had cleared about by 10 something and James woke up and helped me clean up...This morning we had omelets with the spinach filling from the mushrooms--so tasty!

Em is much better today, we're going to give her cake after dinner and take some more pictures.

Just so you know - despite time and distance and all that other stuff - I am extremely proud and honored to be part of your family and to be Emily's scary godmother. I spent some quality time yesterday jumping up and down on the couch yelling, "I'm a godmother!" while Vegas Johnny congratulated me. I'm so very glad that everything went well. The package from Ireland should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday (according to the nice lady, Deirder, I've been having e-mail conversations with). I'm sorry I'm so lame that I didn't have anything written to send ahead of time and in case Andrew wasn't able to say what I would have had I been there my wish for Emily is that she always know her own worth and that she is not alone. I will put it on a card to go into the time capsule. I'm so pleased and happy to be part of your lives and to be your friend, Jyllian. Big smooshy hugs and kisses to all three of you.

I forgot to mention that the heart milagro and its pouch came from a place on Valencia that Sherilyn and I affectionately call "The Magic Box" because it carries a lot of Wiccan supplies (especially herbs, including wormwood) and we can never remember its name.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful day! We thought of you at 3:30 on Saturday, but now I realize that was 3:30 San Francisco time, not Chicago time. Ooops. We thought extra-good thoughts, though, so I think they'll still count. (Positive things can bend the time-space continuum, right?)

I'm also woefully behind on meeting the ceremony deadline for our well wishes, but our card will reach you by mail this week. Also a little prezzie for the bean, which will arrive separately. I have no excuse for missing such a special day, except that June has been all smiles and laughs and has been sleeping like a dream and I've just been so enamored of her that I haven't been keeping up on everything. But it sounds like the day was a success. And how I regret that we didn't get to partake in all the tasty goodies!
