James is home
Apr. 7th, 2002 02:50 pmand we are both so happy we tipped over into dorkland. The cats are happy to see him too, with Miss Ninny punishing him only slightly. I haven't ever been so happy or relieved to see anybody. I know I wasn't likely to have the baby while he was gone, but now it feels like I can exhale and stop holding her in there for some reason.
It sounds like he had as good a time as he could on a business trip. I think I helped in that area and so did the sf folk. Thank you Genevieve, Eva, JamesR,Katrina, Sherilyn, Matt,Blake, and Gwen for looking after him. It really helped me out a lot to know he was going to have some company and some distraction from his worry over me. And I get to live vicariously through his visit.
I miss you all so much.
And presents came back with James. Katrina sent the cutest outfit (it's pink and I like it, see I'm not completely prejudiced) with a matching ear hat. And the coolest kitten book (thanks for helping with the indoctrination). I got all teary when we read the kitten book. And some cute little white bloomers that just yell for Emily to get a ren faire outfit.
Who sent the monsters? We're thinking it was Gwen, James can't remember. They are so amazingly cute. And they are wee monsters. More indoctrination. Now, how to keep them from the cats. Has anyone noticed that many baby toys make great cat toys. Hmmm, just dip baby toys in catnip and you could probably make a goldmine.
At least if you have weird cats like we do. I recommend soft toys AND those little baby gyms with the hang down toys (I think they are called gyminis). They seem to love those. We have had to donate a toy or two to the cat cause...mainly because Zach keeps carrying them off to his lair.
And James brought back a Moishe (where the wild things are) backpack. I can't wait until she's old enough to wear it. It might take a couple of years--in the meantime I'm going to hang it on the wall as a decoration AND keep clenching on the cuteness.
Hopefully all this doesn't backfire into making Emily a dog loving republican cheerleader.
Though of course we'll still love her. I mean, I like dogs, I've know a couple of cheerleaders that turned out really well and my dad was a republican.
It is good to have James back, so amazingly good.
