Ninny isn't limping any longer, that actually cleared up within a day. She's been eating wet food only for three days ( at least 2 on her own then we removed the dry food) now and she's actually perked up a bit today and her fur doesn't look so weird. I realize we are more than likely still in for insulin shots (we'll know in about two weeks) but if she's happier and more animated then I breathe easier.
I'm trying something new with Emily today. Maybe her crying when rolling over (which she does all the time when I put her on her playmat or the blanket on the floor) comes from overstimulation. So when I tried everything today--diaper, food, new toy, new vantage point, cuddling and nothing worked ,I put her in her crib. For 8 minutes she yelled bloody murder (I went in to pat her at 4 minutes then was about to increase the time to 5 minutes when it got quiet) then she passed out. I didn't think she'd be sleepy because she'd been asleep at 8 for 30 minutes, but I didn't know what else to try and holding her wasn't helping.
She slept for 45 minutes and she's awake now cooing in her crib and playing with her mobile. Maybe it's more down time she needs. I thought you had to go to them when they cried immediately or you were screwing up, but sometimes they just need to yell I'm thinking. She's an intense baby, which both James and I think is really cool, she's just really interested in her surroundings.
She's never spent much time in her crib so I'm going to increase that just a bit and see if it helps the crying.
The PPD is hitting hard but I'm trying. I didn't get much sleep last night at all, hopefully I can grab a nap today. James comes back in 6 days.
and here is a cool picture:
