so I spent a chunk of today trying to track down my damn IRA account because I hadn't gotten a statement in awhile.

It was lost...for several hours, my investment company couldn't find it. I had a small heart attack..

Turns out my old bank Cal Fed got bought by smith barney, then by Citicorp. They did a mass transfer of my (and other cal fed)assets to their brokerage pool. Without telling me. Without my signature, then tried to blame it on me. I sent them the damn address changes. THREE TIMES. Idiots. So I'm going to find a new broker here and transfer my pesos the hell out of there. Fokkers.

Good things: despite the above, I have gained about 7k in the last year. Thank god. Doesn't make up for the bath I took a couple of years ago, but it is a step.

Other very good thing: Carrie fit me in on Saturday. YAY...I will not risk my hair at my own hands this time. Other more experienced hands and brain and knowledge will be dealing with my burnt orange hair.

Good thing Naptime conversations with Alex! I get all good stuff from talking to her.

Sad thing.

It has been a month since we lost Newguise. It is still very easy to cry over him and I suspect it will be for quite some time. As it should be.

Excellent thing
Bean counts to 13!! Film at 11! (eee--leb--in)

Excellent thing...

When I couldn't sleep last night and was trying to do my breathing meditations to calm me down, I absolutely without a doubt felt paws walking across the bottom of my legs and a weight settling on me. I knew who it was and I knew if I looked I wouldn't be able to see anyone with my physical eyes. This happened twice. He's still loving me and making sure I know it. I'm a lucky lucky cat mom.

I am a new cat mom and I already love my babies so much! They both come running when I clal them, and keep me company when I'm on the computer.

welcome to the confederacy of crazy cat ladies! When you are loved by a cat or two (or four or six) you know you must be worthy.

Wow, that is scary crap. Without your signature?? Is that legal??

Glad to hear you'll get your hair done! That will be fun. And wow, Em sure is smart! Takes after her mommy.

I saw a ghost cat at my friend Tristan's last night. Not simply movement out of the corner of my eye, but a cat--specifically, a black and orange calico. I said to Tristan, "Weird. I just thought I saw a cat." To which he replied, "That was the ghost cat." Once he convinced me that he *wasn't* teasing me, he explained that his mother and at least one friend have also seen the cat. (Though they either didn't see it as well as I did or, if they did, they didn't describe it to him.)

That's my second experience with a ghost cat, my first was the chilly area and sense of not being alone (but not in danger) at the back of your apartment in SF, which I can only assume was the infamous Hotspur.

ach I'm glad you got to meet Hotspur in a way. I haven't seen/him in a while, but am hoping to again. The last time was when I was in labor, along with my dad and friend Amy. Newg is still helping us out here. I love him and miss him so much.
