w00t...cool bean news

first set of tests passed, not with super flying colors, but good
news. Not great enough to get me out of doing amnio in another month
or so, but well within the acceptable levels for this test (called a
nuchal translucency). AND the things I was worried about--the dental
visit with valium and one night of some wine before we knew Jam's
super sperm had taken root are not to be
concerned about at all. Neither apparently is the fact that I got a
bit rounder with the happiness, pill and cessation of a pack a day
habit. Apparently being fatter is good for getting knocked up. There's
always afterwards to get svelte and goffy again.
we heard the heartbeat too. It was as fast as a kitties. AND one
picture of the bean looks just like curious george, I kid you not.
Of course all the dark spots and light spots are like an optical
illusion, so what looks like a snout is really the mouth and nose
together, but I think the fact it looks like a monkey is cool. He was
also dancing around and we saw feet and hands too. We're guessing
it's a he, won't know for another month.
So next week is one more hurdle and then the 'final' one a month/six
weeks after that and we can relax...
