OMFG I used to think that same thing about aliens! (especially since I was adopted) I actually wrote it in my diary, that I sort of wrote in sporadically.

I did too. I used to take my communicator outside and sit on our hill and try and call the enterprise to take me back to my people.

I think I was still doing that up until about age 22.
