It was a BLAST.
I miss it so much. I started crying as soon as I walked in, more than a little, but less than a lot.

And while it was work fitting into my prepregnancy bodice (why didin't I know how small I was then?) it felt good to have the gear back on. I got a new bodice and skirt out of the trip too :-)
Next trip I have to find the bean an outfit. And James really liked it! He's going to get a babysitter for a day and he and I are going to go if we can swing the scheduling between now and Sept 6th.

I love faire because I'm not self conscious. I love faire because I don't care about getting dirty or how I look. I love faire because somehow or other I fit in there like I do few other places. I get to cavort and play and it's even more fun with kidlets to introduce to the sites. And it will get even more fun as she gets older.

And Emily said Huzzah.
And Emily said God Save the queen.
And Emily said Well met.
ANd Emily said Ren Faire.

I'm REALLY not looking at the witch

And I am so happy.

thank you sweetie! Which faire do you go to? I'm hoping to make a faire brat out of her if I can find a place for myself as a participant.

annually i go to the south florida renaissance faire (durring feb/mar). this november is a faire i never knew about up in fort lauderdale called 'camelot days', which i can't wait to check out! and my first faire i went to (in 2001) was just outside of houston texas (i can't remember the name of it!!!). it was so cool there. i got hooked immediately. :)

I'm *so* looking forward to going next week :) i can't imagine houw you can resist getting Em some wee garb (other than knowing she'll grow out of it by next year). thanks for posting the links, since the Great Computer Death of last week i lost all of my bookmarks.

are you kidding? next week I AM getting her a chemise at least. she should be able to wear that for a couple of years anyway :-) Next year with her will be even more fun because she'll be able to go on all the rides.

Next week will be great too. I'm looking forward to hoisting an ale or two and looking at some pretty things (like another skirt :-)

Brooms and things are right where they always are. Ask to see "the Black Beauty". A true work of art if they have any in stock!

Have fun!!!

I have a costume here that I made for Pnut...Em may have it if she wishes. I have a chemise and bodice. The chemise is flannel lined and good for autumn wear but too hot for summer. Check into Heart's Delight for outfits for children.

Call me. Let's see if we can meet before I leave for England and get you that costume.

dawh, thank you darlin. I still need to lose like a million pounds, but I do feel not too shabby for an old mommy :-)

Wow, she's getting so big! And you look fabulous--congrats on the bewbs. :-)

I'm going to try to go to the Ren Faire here next weekend. The plan is to dress as a lad, even though I have nice female garb. Skirts are so awkward.

you MUST post a picture then!!! Heh, I find pants awkward, though I've gotten more used to them since the bean came along (neccesity--I can't be rolling about on the ground with her whilst I am enskirted--my underwear isn't that nice). I'd love to read about your faire visit. My dream is to take one entire summer and just rv across the U.S. going to faires.

That looked like so much fun! We need to get the girls together soon. I wish Ren Faire didn't end so soon though. Not enough time. You looked great! Where are the other bewb pictures? We'll have a blast on the "adult" trip where many ale will be involved.

it was so neato. As the kidlets get older it will be even more fun because they can do more. I hope we get to take her again because there are elephant rides!!!!

I have some Ren Faire garb from my wee period that might fit you. The dress is burgundy and should definitely fit. The bodice is olive green with a black flocked (?) swirly pattern on it. I can't remember exactly what my cup size was at the time I bought it, but I think it would fit you as well. They're both yours if you want them. (I have pictures around here someplace...)

heh, I'm not so wee anymore, but if you don't need them/want them I'm
hoping to be weeagain! HOnest to goddess, 20 more lbs I swear and
I'm better than I've been since 1993

Well, by wee I mean 125-130 lbs, which isn't really so far off from what I weigh now, but I don't see myself going to any Ren Faires anytime soon, so I think you'll get better use from them.

That's the weight I want to be and and edging down each week so YES. I'm hoping I'll be a participant next year at either thistlecroft or kids kingdom and that means I'll need several outfits (I noticed my costume of the last er, 7 years or more is more than a bit worn out and OH boy are two of those bodices too small).
