Zak hissed and spit at a cat mug we used to have. Attacked it and broke it into several pieces. Declared victory whilst meowing "you perish in flame."

Mr. Teatime growled at Oranges. Slapped them in his adorably queeny way.

Bartleby? Well he's afraid of and attacks the remot control. If you move it slightly while he's staring at it, he shoots straight up in the air, spitting, with hair on end.

Miss Ninny--well she's the empress and is afraid of nothing. Though she will attack you if you have cheetos.

(on a side note, I got MORE msg in restaurant food--not even Chinese on Friday. It was only a little, but enough to kick my ass all Saturday. I'm really really tired of this. I will have to cook everything for the next several months until I'm less sensitive)

And a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] oakangel who helped me (and James) talk through this whole moving to Arkansas thing. You went above and beyond dearheart and I'm really grateful.

Cal is afraid of garbage trucks and thunder/lightning ;p I don't think he attacks anything except squirrels/rodents/rabbits. well he CHASES rabbits, i'm not sure what he'd do with one if he caught it ;p probably, he would suddenly look very nonchelant and wander off.

oh man, Bartleby murdered a bird in Jam's office the other day. It got in when we had the back porch door open and he just plucked it.

hee. Walked around with his swagger saying "call me killer."

Babs fears nothing. Sonny fears everything, especially storms and strangers. But he will also jump up on his hind legs to greet me like a little dancing bear. And will stand up and watch television if an animal is moving on the screen. I've never had a cat watch TV. And he comes up to me in bed and snoogles my head, and will also pluck at my arm with his paw until I start scratching behind his ears. Somehow, from that scared and nearly feral kitty I brought home a year ago, he's become my sweet little guy who shadows me. It's taken a while, but it was worth it.

Babs is the swift hunter of the two -- the other evening, she saw a little centipede under the entertainment center when she was all the way across the room and ran behind the center to chase it out, then batted at it with her paw til I could swat it. (Thank god it was little, I've seen big ones in the house sometimes. Yuck!)

Thank you for much needed laughs.

I just held Oscar up to the open bathroom window for several minutes so he could threaten the pigeons that live in the air chute. (It's open to vent the fumes of the bleach water in the tub that's removing the stains from my blue har dye and he was showing extreme interest in it. Since the bathroom door doesn't latch, I figured was easier to just hold him up than worry about him trying to jump up into a non-existent window sill.)

I'm sorry you got more msg, I truly hope it doesn't happen again. *hug*

Funny kitties - hee! I don't think Smoke has any funny kitty-habits, although she does enjoy watching TV, and very much prefers Animal Planet, thank you. I'm so sorry to hear about the MSG setback - grr!

ha! these are great stories. thanks for sharing!

cat behavior never ceases to fascinate me. one of my cats loves bathtubs. (well, empty ones.) in my old apartment i had a big, deep clawfoot tub, and she was always sitting in there. at first i thought it was just a summer thing, because the porcelain is so cool -- but nope, she'd be in there in the winter, too. then i thought it was just *that* tub -- but nope, she likes the one at the new place, too. i've decided that she likes the accoustics. seriously! she sits in there and sings, and sings, and sings.

my other cat's favorite pasttime is teasing the dog. i'm not kidding, he'll sit just out of the dog's reach (the dog is quite short, so there are plenty of options for this) and swing his tail to make the dog chase it. and then he'll *chase* the dog.

i could watch my kitties play all day, i really could.
