Terry Schiavo had no hope of recovery.

Shame on the Bushes, shame on the religious right. This one really infuriates me.
We let our kitties and dogs go when it is time, why can't we afford people the same care and kindness?

That woman will never be allowed to rest in peace. Her parents and their supporters disgust me.

Someone had a great letter a few weeks ago in the Chicago Tribune vis a vis stem cell research. I'm paraphrasing, but he basically said that he likes to ask people who say that stem-cell researchh will destroy innocent life -- "Okay, say there's a fire in a fertility clinic. You can save a baby that is crawling on the floor of the waiting room, or you can dash to the refrigerator and grab dozens, maybe hundreds, of petri dishes with fertilized eggs. Which do you choose? If you really, truly believe life begins at conception, then morally you must choose the contents of the refrigerator over the baby, as there is no difference in the degree of their humanness."

I am a Christian (of sorts...grin) and I am somewhat right wing. But I still believe in right to die...if only the LIBERATARIANS would get their shit together.
