dancing girl and boy love

a few reasons I am now generally a happy person. The Bean chose this outfit herself. She decided it was "now dancing time."

Went to the swimming pool at Langendorf park. It was great fun. The first time I do anything I'm scared. It is my nature and always has been. But since I know this I can remind myself of that fact and just plow on ahead. I have also discovered I can say "excuse me, but this is our first time doing X, how do we go about this," and smile and I get lots of help. This is how I've managed to do a number of things throughout my life I was told I couldn't do (like drive at all or pass any college math) or was scared to do (I hate new situations with strangers, but there's a lot of that in life--you should have seen my first visit to a....oops, that's rated X). Hee.

Em really REALLY loves the water and the water slide though not the "naughty polar bear he spit on you."
ahem. It's a serious amount of joy doing these things with her.

I do not like my bathing suit. I've lost some weight in some areas so the shirt is baggier than I like (yes, shirt--It's an australian rash suit, I burn like a mofo and have been getting bad rashes for the last few years when I get out in the sun, I'm a delicate damn flower, what can I say.)but my thighs are still from the planet of the big thighed people and may always be. This I do not like. I've also managed to post a number of outgrown bean items on ebay and some clothes that are too big for me or that I'm just not likely t wear. Hopefully this will put me a bit closer to a new laptop or kitty skirts.

Have a look if you are so inclined. I haven't listed the cordelia april cornell dress or JJill top yet pending interest (from the last post). Ebay hasn't put them all up yet, but they'll be there soon.

Oh, post those items. I'd have the same problem on top with them I think.

I'm the same way with doing things for the first time. I am really bad about asking for help though.

you know, if someone is going to be nasty to a person who is doing something for the VERY FIRST TIME (excuse my caps) then they are assholes and I find I have no problem pointing that out in some way. I've found that 98% of the time folks are really nice. It helps to hear I'm not alone in this nervousness either :-)

Now what's weird is that when I've admitted to being scared or nervous but going ahead and doing it (whatever it is at the time)I've had 'friends' pick on me for it and call me a coward. That's just odd. I thought a coward wouldn't do something, not be brave and just go ahead.

I'm glad you put the word "friends" in quotes because people who would pick on you for doing something you're nervous about are NOT your friends.

[identity profile] eunice-branca.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking the same thing!

People do seem to be a lot nicer and very willing to help if you explain. I think people like to find out there are other people as unsure about things as they are. At least, that's my take on it.

Yer totally not a coward if you go ahead and do something yer nervous about! That's courageous!

Bean is sprouting (sorry, I could not refuse ;p) quite a little personality for herself.

Is it coloring time for the kitties? They are gorgeous!

[identity profile] pywacket.livejournal.com 2005-07-11 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
hee thank you :-)
The bean is chock full of personality. She already wants pink hair, and oh boy am I going to find her a wee wig to wear I swear.

Luckily the kitties were just relaxing. Usually they are trying to eat the crayons.

I get a red x and no photos :(

[identity profile] pywacket.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm. Maybe martinitime.org is not resolving for you. I had some folks outside my network try it and it's coming up for them. foo

[identity profile] cheekytubemouse.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not to be seeing the pictures either.

[identity profile] lesliepear.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably was the work firewall. Works fine at home.

(I suspect martinitime is one of the words it won't like.)

I'm getting red x's, too, darn, it.

What's the "naughty polar bear, he spit on you?" Sounds interesting.

[identity profile] thingie.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, when I go to the martinitime.org homepage, I get images with red x's on the front page, too.

[identity profile] pywacket.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
that's weird. Hmmm

I'll check it out, it works for some and not for others.

what happens when you go to http://www.martinitime.org/photos

The little kid's water slide is a polar bear. It's huge and spits water into the pool. She does NOT like that, though she likes the slide.

[identity profile] thingie.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I get 404 file not found.

[identity profile] thingie.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
oh wait, nevermind. When I go to www.martinitime.org, it works just fine.

you can see me really? Everyone says how much she looks like Jam, but darn it, I want some me in there too (and not just her toes, though luckily she has mine not his).
