The breast feeding class rocked. I can't say I learned TOO much more than I knew before but it helped to see about 12 different preggo women all due around the same time. I am firmly in the middle of everything weight and size wise, which helps since I'd really been feeling like

The one thing I did learn that I didn't know before is that if your bewbs are hardening up with too much milk, put some chilled cabbage leaves in your bra--there's something in the leaves that unhardens you.
And apparently the first three months of baby on the outside is similar enough to the first three months of baby on the inside--you are happy but it can be rather difficult.
It was funny when the lactation nurse was talking about how at certain times yeast can be helpful and the woman from Ireland and I both said "Guinness" at the same time and everybody laughed. And the nurse, being from the UK said, oh yes, a good stout can do wonders, even a couple. Much more laid back.
I slept for shit last night. James finally got to feel, earlier in the day, what it's like when I try and go to sleep most nights. Emily finds a spot and repeatedly kicks or punches it...like for almost an hour. It doesn't hurt, it's just repetitive and noticeable enough that I can't go to sleep. Then as soon as I did get to sleep I kept waking up gasping for air. About 10 times last night, crap.
We did get our air purifier in and that's helped with the asthma attacks during the day a lot. I've just got to make time to get to the allergist to talk about all this other stuff. Yep, right after we take Ninny to the vet on Monday to find out why she keeps shaking her head and falling over sideways (other than that she's been just as cranky and energetic). Last night was the worst for apnea yet, so it's time to stop hoping it will go away and deal with it. It's likely it will go away after Emily's born. I sure hope so.
Ok, it's time for a nap.

dumb question
Date: 2002-03-02 08:24 pm (UTC)I am now 21 wks and 1 day (almost 2 days since it's 40 mins till midnight) and I've gained 3 lbs so far.
Re: dumb question
Date: 2002-03-02 11:03 pm (UTC)oh--I only gained 3 lbs the entire first trimester. And the weight gain didn't become noticable really until about 25 weeks, then oh boy did I start looking pregnant--it happened right after we got the good amnio results, just like my friend said--my body was waiting for permission to be pregnant almost.
and I'm 5'8"
long answer to a short question.
Re: dumb question
Date: 2002-03-03 08:37 am (UTC)But I am over-weight to begin with as when I first went in to get tested for pregnancy I was 210 lbs at 5 ft 6.
didn't gain any weight until the 3 lbs during my 2nd trimester (although I'm not thru this trimester yet) although I've really been looking pregnant for awhile...
It seems that a lot of the excess weight I had in my ample rear end, re-distributed itself into my belly :>
