my favorite nephew kitty, Nova, my best friend Angela's cat, whom I've known since he was a young one--he was her Hotspur--he was her best guy, well he had to be put to sleep. He had cancer and it finally got the better of him. He was 15, the same age as Hotspur.

He hung on, having as good a time as he could until she was in a calmer place (she's just settling in to living in Washington state and her second child is a year old now). Ever the gentleman.

I looked after him just about every time she went out of town from 1989 on. He was a brave and kind soul.
