you know it may be naive, but every time I've brought in a new kitty I decided strongly in my head and my heart that they were supposed to be part of the family and had a chat with all the other cats about it. I always made sure the new kid didn't get a lot more attention than the others and just believed that all would be happy. And I've introduced new kittens to 11 year old grumpusses and it's always worked out. I'm assuming since we are very sure Emily is supposed to be part of the family it will go the same way. I'm going to do my best to convince them she's a very noisy hairless kitten.
And there will be MUCH petting when not occupied with the baby. James and I made a pact. Emily will go to the top of the list, then the kitties, then us, THEN the housework until we learn to juggle everything to everybody's contentment.
luckily she's going to be about the size of the smallest cat for a while, so maybe they'll move over.
We also have a cool Where the Wild things are doll for her, an emily dickenson doll and I'm trying to find a plush cthulhlu or maybe that python rabbit with the teeth :-)
I know! I'm so proud!! We keep telling him he's the MONstar cat from the island of MONstar cats. When he chases zach through the house it sounds like a person.
there's a gloom channel and we can go private from there if you ever want to talk about serious or just silly stuff. Let me know if you do and I'll send you the info.
i think i asked you this
how are you planning on keeping your furry babies from being jealous of Emily?

If her womb activity is any indication, she'll suck THEIR breath.
How adoreable!

If it gets to be aproblem, you can get a little crib tent to put over it to keep out the furrier beasts, and keep the bed to Emily for Herself.
I think she's gonna like having a bed full of kitties to boss around.

my favorite LJ icon is the little teatime picture you made. I'm seriously wanting to hit you up for other cat portraits.
