you know it may be naive, but every time I've brought in a new kitty I decided strongly in my head and my heart that they were supposed to be part of the family and had a chat with all the other cats about it. I always made sure the new kid didn't get a lot more attention than the others and just believed that all would be happy. And I've introduced new kittens to 11 year old grumpusses and it's always worked out. I'm assuming since we are very sure Emily is supposed to be part of the family it will go the same way. I'm going to do my best to convince them she's a very noisy hairless kitten.
And there will be MUCH petting when not occupied with the baby. James and I made a pact. Emily will go to the top of the list, then the kitties, then us, THEN the housework until we learn to juggle everything to everybody's contentment.
