Eating some really hot Mexican food followed by a foot massage worked for Ree. Apparently there's this place on the ball of your heel (just under the ankle bone) that you can rub to get contractions to start coming - they advise against rubbing it at all during pregnancy unless you're ready for your infant's debut. And then there's always having sex...*laugh*
Or you can wait until you've planned something really cool to do, that's a sure fire way to get her here. *grin* I was waiting all month for the first Star Trek Voyager episode and wouldn't you know it - THAT - turned out to be the night Ree wanted to come greet the outsiders.
Soren was not a lot of help in early labor because HE was watching Star Trek!

*grin*

Thank you!!! *smooch*

Wait...it didn't work? You're not in labour? Must try harder...

Castor Oil Cocktails...

...are what my mom's weird ob/gyn prescribed for her so my brother could make it in time to be a much-needed tax break. Dollop of castor oil in orange juice. Not recommending. It's nasty. From what Mom remembers. But they got the tax break.

That is just as cute as the picture of me and my brother holding a sign telling my mom to come home soon. (she was in the hospital for foot surgery when I was 6 months and my brother was 3) Must find that picture. . .

but i am harmless and i have been reading your journal throughout your pregnancy,i too tried the castor oil cocktail and it did bring contractions on hard and fast ,but it makes you poop like crazy also, one more thing about the cocktail is wait to go to the hospital until you cant take it anymore otherwise they will drug you and send you home ,my son was 12 days late and i was sooooo done being pregnant that i was willing to try anything..but from someone who has been there done that pitocin is not the answer ,try having you Significant other play with your nipples it might take hours but who can complain, your body will produce its own pitocin and will get those contractions started hope emily comes today,my mom was a taures and she was very difficult to deal with for this scorpio(but then who isn't to a scorpio)come on Emily its time (didn't she hear the kitchen timer go off)you will understand this better when she is a little older the kitchen timer is right up there with the can opener to call the cats out.

thanks!

I'm scared of the castor oil cocktail. That will be my next to last thing to try..
first membrane stripping, then raspberry tea and lots of walking, then the cocktail (maybe..I really don't want to poop like crazy) then pitocin if the doc says so...

12 days? I bet you were going crazy. I'm in my 40th week and I'm getting looney about it already.

when i was about 40 or 41 wks i was going crazy and very anxious to meet this wonderful little person who had been playing waterpolo in my tummy ,but i was also exhausted and grumpy i went to the store to get a sobee(orange carrot )and the gentleman behind the counter asked so how are you today? perfectly polite question!my response was you know how there are 365 days in a year well i've been pregnant for 290 of those how do you think i feel!!the cocktail is vile and i only recomend as a last ditch effort to avoid pitocin. good luck and a quick delivery.it almost over!!
