said the girl who can't leave her hair alone.

It is too orange I think. I either need to go back to full on red or (cue ominous music) go blonde. Which I haven't in years and think would be fun. I tried to get an appointment with Carrie, but I was too late, she's booked up....

so how can I get a good blonde color, like Emily's, without ending up green? I have some speedlite to er, strip it. Luckily my hair is in great condition right now (all the sad parts got chopped off).

So how to avoid green? Any tips?

When I went blonde a few years ago I went to one of those beauty supply shops and talked to the women who worked there - they're usually either current or former stylists themselves and they set me up with a toner that kept it from going either orange or green.
I think you'll look great blonde...*grin*

I used to turn a friend platinum ever month

the one thing I remember is to avoid anything that contains the word 'ash'...they contain the green undertones

how blonde are you thinking?

I'm actually hoping for the natural range...thanks for the tip..I may have to have a professional do it, because I think the blonde we have is an ashy blonde?

you positive you want to go blond? I have a "blond moment" about once a year and I always regret it ... I do like you in strawberry blond though. I also like you in crayola red :) Those are my two favorites on you.

I think I do ..I've been various shades of red for oh my god about 20+ years? I just wonder what I'd look like with Emily colored hair (which is what I had when I was wee). Of course I'll probably end up being red again in a few months, but I'm searching for a color I can be consistently --that looks good but is visually interesting and doesn't scare the natives (I want em to have friends out here).

Does that make sense or do I ramble?

And please to come out and visit--let me know what you have available this month and next. I did completely space on rescheduling the november visit.

I've found that people are pretty accepting of natural hair w/ "interesting" highlites ... I get a lot of complements when I do light auburn w/ red streaks or tips. It used to be different, i remember when i was more punk (er, long ago!) people used to yell stuff and throw stuff at me. Now even old ladies complement my hair :p I think people are coming around a little, especially chicago people, to the idea that you could be pretty much normal even if you have interesting hair.

Yeah, actually, any time after Christmas is fine, or i can even take a day off work (that might be best in fact) ... are you doing anything on the 18th or 19th during the day? I could take a train up and arrive at maybe 9-ish? I'll have to check the train schedule. I would need a ride in from the train station though unless it's withing walking distance or the busses are really good, I don't know the area and i'd hate to get lost.

hey, we'll meet you at the train station, it is only a few blocks from the house.
The 18th or 19th of January--nothing planned, choose your day and we'll do it. And I volunteer Jam to take you home too.
